Why Are Links Disappearing?

Several times now I've returned to threads that I know contain links to sites pertinent to something I'm researching, only to find the link is gone.
Am I missing something here, besides the links? Are these things time sensitive, or am I loosing my marbles?

In our case, that would be loosing our stamps wouldn't it? I haven't had my marbles for years.

Some links disappear if the member posting them has fewer than 50 quality posts and 2 weeks of membership...

Other than that, I haven't noticed any disappearances.
