I sent the seller a message about looking at the Scott catalog values at the local library. We'll see what the response is if any.

I'm sure he is fully aware of catalogue values for his stuff. His ilk works under the proposition that it only takes finding one sucker, out of the millions who frequent the site, to make one purchase, in order to make more money than he would in 10 years selling them at actual market value. That special corner in Hades gets more crowded every day.

Must buy - Must buy - Must buy Really. Why does ebay allow this type of nonsense? Have reported it but doubt they will do anything |

I just clicked the link and got an "item no longer available" message. Looks like it was pulled. Can I play devil's advocate for a minute? Is there really a rule against overcharging on ebay? Surely if an item is described correctly, its price is immaterial. I thought the US was a free market economy and price-fixing would be unthinkable? Just exploring the other side of the argument |

Have to agree with Stampgal. If you don't want to bid, then don't bid. No one is forcing you to buy from this guy, or any other that you think is over-charging. |

I have to disagree. It is not a defense against defrauding someone that "they should have been more careful". And what this seller is doing is fraud. If not the legal kind, the moral kind. |

I am surprised so many people seem to be getting worked up about this. On E-bay every day you can see numerous listings that offer one very common stamp for 99p start (approx $1.58) plus 90p P&P (another $1.40) describing it as "old" or "rare" or "scarce". As I keep saying, it is not compulsory to buy at those prices. We all make mistakes when buying, get swept up in the bidding etc, but we learn from them. I have bid on SCF auctions and later found the same item cheaper on E-bay, does that make SCF auctions dodgy as well? These guys selling at these prices are just chancers, and will sell next to nothing in the long term. Don't let it bug you. |

How can you compare selling a $.02 item for $2 to selling it for $250 like this seller wants to! |
