I can only quote "caveat emptor".
People may still buy even though we may not all agree with a particular seller's methods.
Just curious, do you know anyone who has bought at those prices?

I wish one could know the state of mind of the seller - this listing was so outrageous it can only be one of three things.

-Deceitful = knowing it is priced ridiculous and hoping to prey on the innocent
-Foolish = has no clue what stamp values are and just wasting their own money
-Troubled = has own mental or emotional problems and they should not be on ebay as buyer or seller

I once engaged with one of these sellers. I posted his response here under a different thread. Full of rambling incoherent nuttiness. Guy was missing a few if not more than a few.

Just because something offends your sensibilities, makes it neither legally nor, necessarily, even morally wrong. While what he is doing is laughable and ludicrous, in the end, it's no worse than some record company asking me to pay $16 for a Justin Bieber CD or -- what, $75? -- for a concert ticket. Either one is, in my eyes, at least an order of magnitude more than I would pay.

That ebay seller is a scumbag, true. But, in the end, the only potential "victim" (I promise you, NOBODY is going to buy any of his items) in his scheme is ebay, who will take another hit to their already rapidly flagging reputation.

I bet I know which seller this was. Stampboards and BidStart have both had threads regarding these types of listings. This guy is not the first, and he won't be the last. While it is slightly amusing the first couple of times you see these listings, after that it just makes you shake your head and question your faith in humanity.

This scheme is no different than what the self proclaimed Gods of Philately, sellers of supreme, jumbo, monster, perfect,XF,superb 50 cent catalog stamps at up to and even over 100 times catalogue value pull off every day.Being that these cons have APS, ASDA bla bla credentials it's OK for those clowns to peddle this crap, which is on the same level as so and so treasured keepsakes surely only to rise in value gegaws sold on late night cable TV fillers.

Linn's and ebay love these guy's because they are big time income, it's called due diligence on the purchasers part no matter what the item is. Jethro selling a 1957 stamp, Bubba selling a Civil war rifle or Biff selling a Rolex, buyer beware and informed prior to handing over the funds.

Didn't any of you notice the image of The Blessed Virgin on those stamps? ebay is the venue of choice for such items.
