I was able to find some information that will make life a lot easier for you. There are some very good books on individual German units that give you great detail on each. Here are some I have purchased:
German Order of Battle, Volume One
German Order of Battle, Volume two
German Infantry in World War II (Order of Battle)
Hitler's Legions The German Army(Order of Battle)
You can find them on
Amazon.com or
ebay. If you get used books you can get them really cheap.

It will take you to another page where the information is in German. Just highlight and copy the information in the top box. Open Google translate and paste the information in the box and it will translate it to English for you. It will give you the unit information (Like 184th Artillery Division Etc.) Once you know the unit info you can look up the specific details on each unit in one of the books I listed above.
