Does anyone remember this and/or have any examples of such a thing?



I pulled the above image out of an old 2001 issue of The Postal Bulletin. As I have never encountered an example of this that I can recall, did the USPS abandon the idea as a failed experiment?

Anyone know for sure?

"Permit No. G-10"--does this mean the USPS was footing the bill for delivering this piece of advertising? Interesting.

Not quite.

The above was only a sample illustration used by the USPS. The entire concept was a "test" market and, frankly, I think the idea failed, but there still must be some of these cards out there, although from a philatelic perspective, I'm not sure how many reached collectors hands:
