Just something I saw when working on my Used Album.
Here, I have two poor copies of Scott 1035. The one on
the left seems pretty normal, but the one on the right
shows a compressed "G". Upon closer inspection, the "O"
and "D" also look compressed. The horizontal lines seem
to skip a beat on both sides, seemingly across the entire
stamp. Not very noticeable, but it did catch my eye.

Here is a blow-up of the left stamp.

And here is a blow-up of the right stamp. Notice the compressed
"G" and the horizontal lines too close in the same plane.

I think you can just chalk that one up to slightly heavier inking on one stamp as compared to the other. I pulled a dozen or so duplicates of this stamp from my own stock book and what first appeared to may have been slightly modified lettering turned out simply to be inking anomalies that could be easily detected when viewing the image close-up.

Yeah, it just seems to be a continuous, horizontal line that
is only slightly over / under inked. The lines of the "G",
though, are clearly touching, but nothing special. Also, a
horrible, used example that will be filed, appropriately.

Thanks for the comments wt1 ... always look forward to your
insight.
