Did anyone pickup the Louisiana Statehood Stamps today (04/30/2012)? Here's an example of mine:
A nice looking stamp, although the design is a little "busy". I find it rather interesting that there is no text on the sheet of the stamps (other than what is on the stamp itself). No title in the selvage, no history of the State on the reverse side--nothing. Since it was printed by Avery, there's no microprinting on these stamps either.
For those who collect new US issues, at least we can take a "breather" after this, for there's not another new issue slated for release until May 23, 2012 (Great Film Directors).
After that we have to hold on again, as there are no less than 7 different stamp issues, for a total of 22 face-different stamps slated for release in June 2012!
New US stamp issues are getting to be expensive to collect.
