That is interesting wt1. I was just reading about early postal systems in other countries prior the Penny Black. It must be remembered that the Postal System was well in place centuries before the issue of the Penny Black as far back as Cyrus the Persian King (550BC). Perhaps their Signet ring served as the Stamp/Seal back in the day. The value of those will remain priceless. Undoubtedly the issue of the Penny Black opened a new era and system and simplified the process of communication from one place to another.
