Last week I purchased a cover binder of approximately 130+ covers, mostly U.S., but with some forign covers as well. Included were approximatley 20 China covers which I believe are probably FDC's. In addition to the cachet and description, most have a series of boxes in the upper left hand top edge and the lower right hand bottom edge, each series of boxes having a number written in. There are only two different numbers in the upper boxes, so I am assuming that this may be a subscription number for the covers (???) and the bottom number may be some type of registration number (???).
I will be in contact with a local friend who has adopted 3 Chinese children to see if I can get a translation.
Regardless, they are the first Chinese covers I have gotten and I think make a nice addition to my cover collection.

Cover 2 - This is an unusual cover in that it has a printed scene on the inside front of the envelope (printed in brown ink) with a blank (white medallion shape the same size as the red medallion printed on the front - lower left.
