Take pictures of my stamps? What are members using to get up close and crisp pictures of their stamps? I tried to scan but did not work. When I blew it up it was fuzzy. Are they taking pictures with a magnifier?

Thanks for the help in advance.

I scan at 600 dpi and then reduce the picture size to what
I want. If I want to show a small part of stamp I scan at
1200 dpi and then crop to size I want.

When I scan a stamp in a black sheet, the stamp comes out so tiny and the sheet so huge that I have to blow the pic up a ton and it's grainy even at 600 dpi. So can I piggyback here and ask how you get it to scan so that you end up with a large stamp pic that can be cut *down*?
