I tried to locate a Catalog number for this stamp in Scott and was unable. Can someone help me?

Also, I notice the second stamp has a cancel as well as some writing was this a common practice?

Thank You!

Stamp4life, regarding your perforated stamp, you need to check the perforations and watermark to identify whether it is P1 ,P3, or P4. The second stamp is imperforated but I don't see a listing for an imperf stamp. Perhaps it is a postal stationery cutout.

I see what you mean mhc99. Thank You so much for pointing that out.I will check those things you mentioned. I have another perforated one similar to the one posted but will check.
The imperforated one,a cutout! What do you figure about the writing?

Your imperf stamp is most likely a cutout from a newspaper wrapper. There were at least two versions, and they used the same impression as the adhesive. There are no imperf stamps in the SG catalogue.
Hope this helps.

The second stamps is a cut out of a Newspaper wrapper as mentioned above, the wrappers are not huge so in regards to the writing the hand written address has continued into the stamp. By the way lots of early stamps are cancelled with pen cancellations for various reasons, but mostly when they are used fiscally on documents.

Thank You Sydneyboy! Yes I have seen pen cancellations and wondered at that.
I had no idea about Newspaper wrappers & "cutouts" but recently found two and have learned much from you all! Thank You!
