Scott #9 Wrapper.

A "Free" franking, I haven't read the contents yet so there may be more to this.

A #24 with a blue cancellation

A #26a with a Paid cancellation from Boston

Another 11

A flag of Truce, Confederate Prisoner of War cover. Too bad they removed the CSA stamp.

A couple of Occupation covers from Memphis, TN. The 1st indicates "Government Printing Office, Helena Arkansas so this would make it a Confederate Government cover?

This last one may be the best of all. a pair of CSA #13 on cover. Unfortunately, I believe it to be a FAKE.

IMO, it pays to visit your local dealer shows. I drove 60 miles to get there, spent about 5 hours at the show and will have many many hours of enjoyment as I go through the material I purchased. I got some great deals, met another dealer whom I hope to visit, purchase or steal from more in the future.

I believe it's not the stamps he thinks are fake (they look good to me), but the usage of the stamps. These are much more valuable in used condition (properly used, of course) so there are many time where the usage was forged (many years later) in order to make them seem more valuable.

If I had to take a wild guess at at, it appears that just maybe they were added much later. The wear and tear of the stamps look s less than the wear of the envelope.

I can't quite make out the cancellation but that would be a factor in whether it needed 40c postage for delivery. If it didn't have to go on a long range journey then 40c would be high unlikely for postage.

The reason its a fake is that I can see parts of a cancellation under the stamps! Kinda easy to spot when its in your hand. Someone used a glue stick to place the stamps on cover. Its still a nice looking piece. I'm thinking about putting "FUBAR" on its back side.

I also made a mistake concerning the Boston Paid cover above. Its a 26a on cover, not a #11. I mislabeled my scan and didn't check it before I posted it.
