If 8p = General Pershing, I can't find another "G" in that area.

The regular 8c is the Statue of Liberty of different sizes and with torch in different positions, but I don't see how the G would refer to any of those?

Other than that, I can only see Gandhi ... which seems unlikely.

Thanks.

[Edit: one example is New London, CT, Type 225.]

There are 3 versions of the 8 cent liberty stamp. 8g refers to the Giori Press printed version SC 1042.

Thanks -- for my cheat-sheet, do you know off-hand what he uses for the other two?

Bruce does not differentiate between the flat and rotary printings SC1041 and SC1041A in his book [neither do I].

Great -- thanks.

Chasa -- I have tried to email you a couple of times about my WF i.d. listing I was putting together, but I am not sure it's working. Today I got a notification from SCF that I had a personal email from someone else here, but when I clicked it didn't show me the content, so I wonder if something similar has been happening with my emails to you. Can you let me know if you have time to help me clarify the listing -- you said before some of it might be a bit misleading? Thanks.

This is a little weird and embarassing...
I accidentally deleted my email account at YAHOO - it was the one linked to my SCF profile.

So, if you tried to email me via SCF in the last 3 months - it never went through.
Your note today prompted me to link SCF to an operational email - THANKS!
