I know all of us use stamp albums, but do any of you frame your stamps, especially the ones you prize.

I've heard of people framing stamps that they prize. I keep mine in my albums. |

Gray:
Framing rare stamps is not a good thing to do. Exposing them to light will destroy the colour of the stamps in a very short time. Constant exposure to fluctuations in humidity levels will turn the paper to dust.
Keep them in an album.

Hello graycolor.......
Welcome to the club.
If you want some items for wall art, enlarged photo's of your favorite stamps or covers would be your best option. David is right, constant exposure would not be good. |

to the SCF graycolor! I don't frame stamps for my collection for reasons mentioned by others, but I do frame stamps and covers as gifts to give collectors and non-collectors alike. For instance, I put eight or ten teacher/education stamps in a nice frame for teachers. |

I knew the sun could damage, but even in the unlit parts of the room. Thanks for the warning everyone I guess I'll be more careful now with my stamps. Just ordered my first stamps ever, should be coming next week. |

I tend to agree with the other's on this subject, but I must admit I do have two covers that are framed and hanging up (one in my living room and one in my computer/stamp room). I don't have them framed so much for what is on them but for what the person that gave them to me went thru to bring them back to the U.S. Yes, Greg, I do still have the Honduras covers hung up....LOL. |

No Greg you haven't been forgotten. Every time I show the covers and tell the story behind them people are very moved by it.
