Ziggy9,
Cool stuff. I hadn't thought about the Motor Vehicle stamps having the make & model on them. I wonder if that Hudson sedan was a Hornet?

Rod,
great looking cindy.

I don't know much of anything about that Runbaken Oil Coil, but I did find an ebay seller who is selling one and has posted this picture of it:

Quote:

Vintage RUNBAKEN Oilcoil S 20 – Super Ignition Coil
This is a vintage post-WWII Runbaken Oilcoil with mounting bracket and original booklet. It has an frosted coating around the glass bottle. The mounting bracket has the original cork insulator intact on the sides and the bottom where it contacts the bottle. The oil is at the proper level. The original foil label "Oilcoil 6V" is on the bottle.

An Oilcoil is a "super ignition coil for maximum power to your car van or truck". This coil is used in 6V systems to improve spark, lower petrol consumption, improve performance, etc. The booklet has 15 pages and has a detailed description of the function, technical information, specs, fitting instructions, Don'ts, 4 pages of "What Users Say" (claims of how wonderful it is), "What the Press Say" (likewise - its advantageous) and other motor accessories (types of coils) on the back. The inspection ticket marked "6V", passed by "R.R", & "13-13-9" or "B-13-9" (?) in pencil, the Rumbaken 2-year guarantee claim ticket and packet envelope are also included.

Marked: Patented OILCOIL Made in England / The Oil Makes the Coil / Volts 6/ Ser. No, 95372 / Reg. No. 847645 / Runbaken / Manchester

Embossed on top: "OILCOIL" / Runbaken / Manchester – One terminal has "CB" embossed by it / The other terminal has "BAT".

Manufacturer: Runbaken Electrical Products, Manchester, England
