I made my first confederate stamp purchase last month. It was a block of 4, 2c Jefferson stamps, Scott #8. Looked to have really good centering and most of the original gum. It's too difficult to see if it's ever been hinged, but I am guessing it has based on it's age. My next CS purchase will be focused on an actual cover with a nice cancel tying the stamp to the cover.

Let me show you something. My image looks identical to yours! I once proudly purchased this but found it to be a forgery and have since seen this same image used to sell many like it. I was fortunate and got to return it and got a full refund so just be absolutely positive of what you have! I have not bought any Confederate stuff since.

To be clear- What was pictured and what was sent was 2 different animals completely. I wish you well and hope you indeed made out.

because the ones I received was smudged to the touch. they was done on an inkjet printer not to mention the paper used was clearly not authentic. It was like that parchment paper you buy at walmart.. I had to dispute it with ebay until I finally got my money back. Just becareful as I noticed the same blemishes on the image as the sellers image I posted.

A high resolution scan of a portion of the stamp will easily pick out ink jet printing. Color laser forgeries are more dangerous.

If it is real shouldn't I feel the ink raised from the paper?

I Love Stamps,

Is the picture you posted an actual scan of what you recieved? Or the picture used in the auction?

I just scanned the back of my stamp; you can clearly see the exact same strand of hair compared the picture you displayed. Under a loop, this strand of hair is blue in color and imbedded in the gum. I am wondering if the picture you purchased from was the actual scanning of the stamp I received.I made this purchase June 4th of this year. When did you purchase yours?

BTW- The small black dot on the lower right stamp was a piece of debris.

One thing is clear, The picture you have is from my actual block of four.
