I am from Colorado and recently got back into collecting stamps again. My uncle introduced me to the philatelic world when I was 15, now 21 years later, I'm grateful to have had a jump start on the collection I accumulated years ago. Now older and able to stay focused on my collection. I have decided to keep my interests on U.S. stamps. I recently tried organizing and Identifying my world collection. Only to have learned that my U.S. collection just holds my fascination more. To say I was fortunate to start my collection so long ago is an understatement. My uncle steered me in the right direction and I was able to add some very rare stamps that I would have had a hard time obtaining today at a reasonable price. I have looked around and read many post over the past week and I am amazed how helpful people are to those willing to put the work in. I look forward to chatting with everyone and adding to my knowledge of the philatelic world.

597596, aka, Fred

Hello 597596 Fred, welcome!

It's hard enough to just do one country or theme or area justice. The people who do worldwide large collections have a drive I think.

But, then again, there are so many interesting things in the world, hard to restrain myself at times!

Doug
