I was looking for opinions on my Scott# 584, precancel. Re-entry or poor inking? Alos, this copy has realy nice centering as well. A few short perfs, but it is worth having graded as well?

Is it worth grading ? Simply no. Grading should only be used for pre-1900 Stamps if any IMHO. The grading train has run it's coarse and we've finally started to see an end to slabbed "Over run Countries" for $75.00. Grading takes into account more than centering and why pay to grade a Stamp that retails for 20¢ ? The pre-cancel is not a scarce one so I'd simply tuck it into my stock book and enjoy it.

input to live by stallzer. I would end up spending more money on certs when I can be buying more stamps. I'll leave the grading for 19th century and errors.

The 1922 series perf 10 were the first real high volume application of the large Stickney rotary press (with 800 subject drum). Your stamp is not a re-entry but simply an inking anomaly which were very common. This was the series that really "perfected" the rotary press for sheet stamps.
