This is an image of a page in a Scott American Stamp Album from 1938

The numbers are strange for the airmail stamps I guessed they changed?







All the numbers are 1300 Series

Scott did in fact completely change its numbering system in the late 1920s or early 1930s, I don't know the exact year. There was just one big long series of numbers, no prefixes like C, E, J, R, etc. They began to realize that system was about to run out of available numbers.

I have been removing the stuck stamps from this album as you see in the picture, and came across those numbers, very interesting........

I believe it was 1939-1940 that the numbering system changed. This Linn's Stamp News article summarizes what they did:
