Hello,
You probably need a better scan at a higher resolution liek 200 or 300 ppi and then crop around the stamps and just show the stamps in order to reduce the file size down to less than 100kb in size. A pain sometimes I know.

It is better to post stamps in the correct forum to get a better response from the people who actually know about what you need and answer for.

Back out to All Forums and then look for US Classic Stamps I think it is. Something like that. Click on that heading and start a thread / topic in there.

Good luck.

Make sure your picture files are in mower case .jpg format. Not .jpeg or .JPG (capitals) format.

Below 100kb in size. 95 or less is safer than 99. Always check the properties (right click menu) before attempting to upload to be sure file size is less than 95kb as it is frustrating to wait and wait to know if it is OK or not.

No spaces in file name at all. I have gotten used to putting dashes '-' between words in my file name titles. Use FastStone (free) program to convert from one file name to another such as gif to jpg or bmp or png to jpg.

I can email the scans to you but I can't upload at present I'm on two laptops one for European countries and U.S. The one I use for the U.S seems to give me the headache.

You need to Not use spaces between words at All. If those are the titles you are using. Are there dashes or underscore characters between the words of the titles?

Do you use a non-English keyboard perhaps, where the non-English characters with accents and graves would be seem as non-scceptable characters?

Yes Puzzler you have hit the nail on the head it's the keyboard configuration. I have just begun my U.S venture I have found some real nice stamps in a collection that was damaged by a fire of a old historical building a few lost pages of stamps but the rest are in order I can across a U.S 1c Washington that seems to be two side evenly with no gum between them had to determine separation neatly portioned. Is this posibble I have to rely on outside help to relate to U.S appraisers as my collection is worldwide the U.S is just a little more differcult sometimes for watermarks .Some one sent me an email saying no keeping secrets lol.

Good you have it figured out.

You need to crop around the stamps in the first second pics to reduce the space showing around the stamps, but still show all the perforations (perfs), and preferably on a black or dark background so the perfs will show.

Plus larger resolution scans will help people see the stamps in all their glory and detect and small differences that need to be detected in order to differentiate them from other similar ones.

the scans of the USA stamps in 102 cards are way too small to examine really.

Try scanning one stamp at a time or scanning at 300 dpi and then cropping with an editing program and one stamp should be the right size to see properly. Even 600 ppi but then you will need to reduce with an image optimizing program like the one we have.

So now you have it figured out you can start putting the stamps in the correct forums on SCF here, US stamps in US forums and India in Worldwide classic probably.

That last India is very nice.

If there is any damage to the backs of stamps then that will affect the value also, sometimes to a large degree, and it is no good to keep secrets. It is far better for you to know your stamp knowledge and to know more than those you are asking for help, so that you can catch them on their mistakes and confirmations or denials.

Hiding things just does you bad in the long run I feel. If you disclose (tell now) any faults a stamp may have that you can see and know will affect value, people will trust you more and come back for more. It is just being friendly is all it is.

The 1c Washington is two stamps stuck together. I can see the back of the other stamp in both scans at the top right.

Try putting these in the freezer to see if that will pop them apart or in a sweat box (search on here or Google) to use moisture in the air to release them. they are not worth much anyway (I think) so it probably doesn't matter much. Maybe to you it does though.

Some nice cancels (clear) on the India. The last US stamp shown is a precancel of some sort. Post them all with better scans/ photos in the proper forums to get much better responses than just me.

I hope that you are seeing this Puzzler I follow all the following instructions and have advanced quickley someone just ask me recently would I sell items from my collection. When I first ventured to sell my first stamp I went to a dealer in New York it was a Hong Kong Queen Victoria 2c, he looked in a catolugue and gave me a price about $27.00 ,I said to him for a Queen Victoria that older then both of us and more he replied yes. I said to my self let me check a chinesse or someone else in New york, asked around and later forwarded to a gentleman, he examined the stamp and asked me if I had any more I told him yes 3 more I showed the to him and he examined them , went into a back room and give me an evolope (that has me smiling till today) that was almost 3yrs ago . and I still have four more of the same stamps and a contact for him . I have never sold a piece to the U.S market or dealer I think of him first,I will consider now but I still have that option. I would like to mail you something from my collection to see how long it will take to reach you. It's your you then can tell me what you think of the grade of stamp that I have.Cool
