Hello fellow stamp collectors.

I am an extremely notice stamp collector and only have ever collected for pleasure, not value. I enjoy the history, art work in some cases and always wonder "if this stamp could talk, what would it say?".

That said, I am new to the forum, and signed up mainly to ask about the below, but perhaps I would stick around and knock around a few threads while I am here to boot.

I have an opportunity to make a trade and the individual is claiming the value is high for these items ($700.00 for market, about $2500.00 book value). After some brief research on my end (and thanks to a few posts on this forum) it seems some of these could perhaps be fakes (flat sides based on year etc).

That said, below is a picture of the stamps he is offering in trade for an ipad. Curious to know what I am getting into here. I know stamps can be some what easily forged etc so I am looking to educate myself.

Thanks all and nice to meet you all.

First welcome to SCF. I don't know much about these except that forgeries are common. You wouldd probably do better to post these in the World Classic Stamps Mint and Used section where your question will probably get answered faster.

with Russ.

Also try using a title such as 'Papal States help' or some such. to attract the people that know about these types of stamps (not me).
