Could someone tell me all the ways to tell a wet printing from a collection and wish to determine the two differences.

Note that most information on the differences between the wet and dry printing is applicable only to the rotary press printings. The difference in the flat plate wet/dry are much more difficult to detect visually.

Plate numbers can sometimes be used to differentiate between the two types.

Generally flat plate wet printed stamps tend to have a smaller stamp design size (horizontally or vertically) than flat plate dry printed stamps since wet printing tends to result in some paper shrinkage where as dry printing does not.
