ok,

I have what I feel is correctly identified as a 2c Washington, Type III Scott# 540. Perforated 11x10

I have done research on this issue and I get conflicting reports on the measurements of the stamp. The one I have posted is clearly 19.75mm x 22.5mm. I measured mine with digital calipers, just couldn't get my scanner to read them.

Scott's Catalog states 11x10 Rotary Waste 19.5mm-20mm x 22mm-22.25mm

1847 states-
539 Rotary Press II none 11 x 10 19.5-20 x 22 (wider)
540 Rotary Press III none 11 x 10 19x22.5-23 (taller)

My example of #540 is clearly wider then what 1847 states of 19mm and is clearly taller then what Scott states of 22.25mm

Why is this?

two lines clearly in first fold of second ribbon

A clear check mark in the upper laurel berry, not an indistinct blob.
