Here are four more pages from the first album of the collection I mentioned in my first post. Haven't taken closeups of any of these yet but certainly can do so. Let me know you you have interest in seeing a specific stamp and I will post those pics.

My heart can't handle any more, I'm drooling on my keyboard and becoming lightheaded. A collection I've been working to put together and will probably bankrupt me.
If you post closeups I'm sure to need CPR!

Then again, I can complete my collection with pictures of your and save a ton money

Post away!

What a collection!

WOW!! What a collection!!

Is the Scott 39, (The Blue 90 Cent stamp of the 1857 Series) mint (unused)???

Impressive.....

Closeups of these stamps might put me in a coma....

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.
I collect for enjoyment, not investment.

There's really no icon here to show what my face looks like now looking at these. This and your Columbian post make me want to quit collecting (what's the point? I say to my self) and at the same time search even harder to collect these stamps. But I'd have to say these look pretty darn perfect.
There must be a dog in there somewhere!

Seriously, very nice. Very, very nice.

For such a nice collection I'm surprised how poorly they are mounted. Looks like original owner was bankrupt buying the stamps and couldn't afford decent paper or mounts.

Thats the way it was done back in the day. Naked stamps hanging on by a hinge, all on quadrille pages with type-written notes. I dare say this was put together no later than 1980 and perhaps a good deal earlier.

Or the collection was put together 65 years ago.

Holy smkokes. I don't even collect US (yet, well a little. Ok some more than that) and I am stunned.

This is the kind of stuff you would pay to see in a museum or some show.

Stallzer, send your old dupes this way will ya?

Well I'm curious just how you "picked up" this collection from a client and what body parts you gave for it.

Since the poster is helping the client learn about the collection, I think we can assume that the collection hasn't changed hands yet.

Welcome to the forum, Windy. Lots of accumulations walk into dealers, and based on what you have shown so far, this is certainly on the better end of the spectrum. Well worth the time of the owner to find out exactly what is there.

I second the suggestion to pick up a U.S. Specialized (especially since its a business deduction for you). Pick a few of the stamps with eye appeal and post some closeups. We all like to look at stamps, and a nice scan will garner some good thoughts. (Not from me, as I'm not much of a U.S. guy, but from plenty of others.)

Thanks for the comments and confirming my suspicion that this is an important collection. This is an old collection and the stamps are in the books because that's how it was done in the day. And yes, the collection is owned by my client and I am helping determine approximate value and will likely help sell at fair value. But as a collector at heart, I am having a blast learning a whole new field of study. I sincerely appreciate the comments and will post more photos beginning with the blue 90cent 1857... coming soon.

Okay... here are images of the 90 cent and 30 cent series 1857. You be the judge on grade but they look mint unused to me.
