Columbus Day...a year ago we were in the city for my wifes Doctors appointment..which takes all of 15 minutes..right around the corner on 5th ave was the Columbus day parade..there must have been 1/3 of Italy in the parade plus Italian Americans...i have never seen a parade like it..we watched for almost 2 hours and they just kept coming and coming up the street...Of course I consider Columbus a hero..my son Andy calls him a murderer..but we had different textbooks in school I guess !! |

Phil..Your son Andy may be right, according to my history book, as soon as the ships landed, the crew shot 100 Quetzal's and had a big bar-b-que on the beach.  |

Bobgggg as an Italian American I have eaten every kind of bird from English sparrow to turkey...but I would NEVER eat a Quetzal..that would go against every fiber of my being ! |

Forgot to mention that they don't deliver mail either. It used to be nice having the day off from school, though. |
