It looks a lot more like Type U5, with its wider labels with curved ends. I would say it's #U10, which is also on buff paper. |

As to the addressee on the cover shown, this is probably the person: Nice South Hadley, Massachusetts postmark, too, back in the day when they used "Ms." to abbreviate Massachusetts rather than the more modern abbreviation of "Mass." |

Mary didn't marry until she was 24 -- practically an old maid by the standards of that era.
I can't read the year date on the cancel (if there is one), but that would seem to be a very late usage, surely 25 years after issue? |

it seems that only a day/month is on this postmark... not the year...
on the other side of the envelope someone wrote in pencil: "no. 16"... but I don't know is it some remark connected with the stamped envelope/additional stamp, or with the correspondence which once also used to be there.
edit: btw. isn't 6 cents was a pretty large rate for the 19th century, and for the receiver in the same state - Massachusetts? |

In 1855, the domestic letter rate was 3c per 1/2 ounce not over 3,000 miles and 10c per 1/2 ounce over 3,000 miles.
On July 1, 1863, the rate was changed to 3c per 1/2 ounce to all parts of the U.S. and stayed at that rate until October 1, 1883, when the rate per 1/2 ounce was reduced to 2c.

Do you have a rear scan. Some of the first stamped envelopes had the Nesbitt seal on the point of the back flap and was in use for a very short time before being discontinued. |

I don't see any seal on the back side... but I can scan it anyway, if you want to see it... but nothing special, just some mold XD |
