They may not be the best looking stamps in the world, but I love the look of these stamps.

The 523/524/547 have an unique distinction being the only U.S. stamps of different denominations to use a common plate. Plate 8179 was used for the vignette on both the $2 and $5 stamps.

The only postage stamps. There are revenue stamps, like the 1941 wine stamps which used the same plates to print the two background designs, one for values under $1, one for $1 and over. Only the values changed, those were offset just like the last postage due series.
