i just wanted to show my carrier stamp. i do not know if many collector have a copy of this type of stamp. does anyone think I should get papers for this stamp or graded? i think it is a great stamp.
Pretty cool stamp, I was surprised it is that old. However I don't know much about carrier stamps. But I do now and no I don't have any. I looked in my Scott and I see the blue has some nice value. Granted I must be fair and say I'm not sure what it means by "On cover, tied by hand stamp". Though I can read $1,250.
Ok not knowing means I do some more reading and I now understand what the "On cover, tied by hand stamp" means. I guess yours is MNH not on a cover so the value is far less then the above but still high enough in my 2006 Scotts to say you might want to consider it. I'm getting about $400 for the stamp.
Cool I learned something tonight, thanks for posting the carrier stamp.
Dan, before you pay to have your stamp authenticated, you might want to look at it more closely with 8x or better magnification, a loupe or low power microscope. I thought I had a great find but the paper looked whiter on the back than on the face of the stamp. A closer look with my loupe showed me it wasn't a real stamp but one created with an ink jet printer, paper tint and all!
