Hi.
For some time, I've been coming across issues that are beyond my level of expertise, and am glad to find a resource, as well as being able to make, hopefully, some contribution in return.

I started collecting stamps at the age of 9, where I prospected in a collegetown at dormitories for the female students. I collected until I was about fourteen, when I became interested in old cars, especially the classics. When I went into the service, I left my collection of about 5,000 stamps with my older brother. Several years later, when I finally got around to picking them up, there were only a few envelopes left. I felt bereft of part of me.
I have collected off and on since then, and about 5 years ago I acquired a dealer's inventory, and have been cataloguing and pricing them since then, sparing some time to digitize about 400 LP's and some 300 or so 78's. Now I'm back to the stamp stuff. I do pretty well on identifying most of the issues, but have considerable difficulty with (some) watermarks, types of paper and other complex and sophisticated issues. My collection is worldwide, with heavy concentration on US, Germany and some other areas. I don't have time, nor the expertise to categorize them qualitatively.
For much of my inventory, I use EZ Stamp software, (not a current version) where the country is supported. For the balance, I enter the data in excel files.
I use 2008 Scott catalogs.

Looking forward to working with you. Thanks for your support.
