So who here collects Ducks?

Has anyone completed a set?
Who is actively working on a set?

Just curious, because I don't hear to much about them here.

I have a partial set.
My set starts with #1, and goes hit and miss into the 1970s.
My set is about half used, and half mint.

As a side note, by accident, I have ended up with some state
'Ducks' and 'Trouts'.... I don't collect them, but ended up
with some here and there. I even have 'Bear Tags' for some reason.

I sure do. A complete set but I'll have to admit that many of them are "wounded ducks". That didn't matter much to me especially if it was the particularly high value ones. Same as you - some Mint, some Used.

And I still buy a newly issued one each year.

Have some CAN ones from 80's with a few artist signed ones . Never really looked into what they are worth artist signed as they came with a bunch of modern mint I don't have particular philatelic type attachments too.

Yeah, some of mine are 'wounded', but oddly enough they are from the 50s/60s.
My early ones, that I got with the collection when Dad passed are either mint
or extremely lightly used. He bought one in particular as 'used', but it isn't,
while one early one he bought at 'mint', I believe is actually used. So I guess
it evens out.

I have to admit I forgot about the Canadian ones. Taking them into consideration, then, yes, I do collect them. I have a small number of them as well and even a couple of them on document.

I collect both Federal and State Ducks with a preference to the State varieties. I find that many of the state ducks have more going on on them than just ducks. Dogs, boats, hunters, guns, duck calls, lighthouses, etc. all tend to make them more interesting than the Federal ones in my opinion for the most part.

So, they're not exactly Turkey, but they're sort of close enough to Turkey to post the day after Thanksgiving.

Here are some snapshots of the ol' U.S. Duck collection (the Federal ones - Scott listed "RW" series). These are just quick photos. I'm currently happily planted on the couch watching some games on TV so I didn't want to move over to the office and fire up the scanner.

I've never really taken much interest in hunting stamps, though I have accumulated a few...but looking at Kurt's photos of his great collection made me realize how beautiful they really are- and the $ spent goes towards habitat conservation, so I could probably talk myself into collecting them fairly easily.

I have about 15 Mixed Federal and a few Michigan State Duck Stamps. They are hard to find unless you buy them from a stamp company. Which I don't do. I am constantly on the look out at garage sales for Duck or any U.S. stamps. I only collect U.S. singles and Plate Blocks. I have a lot of sheets that I would love to sell.

I do collect Duck Stamps but I started collecting 1974. I have not purchased any Duck stamps except from Post Post office.

I never was interested in them for some reason. Maybe just cause I never had any when I collected as a kid. After I got some in a few ebay lots that I didn't even know where part of the lots I was buying, I kind of like them now. This is all I have though

I have been lucky in the "box" purchases with partials ... paid 800 for a complete set some years ago ... I was aware of the high price I was paying but the widow I was buying from didn't have a clue ... I, out of principal, wanted to get closer to retail ... LOVE the duck stamps
