I found these two Washington, Perf 10 Coil stamps. Both appear to be Type I. If so, do you classify both as Carmine? Not much value, but thought it was worth the question. Thanks in advance.

Since we're weighing in here, I'll give my 2c. I'd tend to agree with Wil. The stamp on the left is a cooler red, compared to the right stamp which we would call a warmer red.
Lake leans more to the purple (cool) side of the reds, whereas carmine is a warmer colour.
If that makes any sense.

Thank you very much for your opinions. It looks like color variations are about as easy as I thought ... very hard!

If we assume Carmine Lake for the left stamp, then I have a follow-up question. My Scott's says that a 599 is available as Carmine, but the 599b is the Type I Carmine Lake. It also only shows an unused value (very high) for the 599b, but no used value. Although I have cut perfs on the left, do you think that it could have some value?

partime...

Please remember one thing..
scans are always difficult to distinguish color by.
It's best if you get a color guide.
