Hi all! I just started on this forum but have been collecting stamps for many years. Both of my grandmothers were stamp collectors, and my father as well. Being he was in the Navy for 20 years, he was able to acquire many world wide issues by mailing to home and family and having them saved. My Great Aunt had friends in Taiwan that mailed regularly and that was passed down the line.
Having
inherited all these collections some years back; I have spent many leg numbing, back aching, joyous hours sorting, reviewing, researching, cataloging, soaking stamps over the years. Add in my own neurotic gathering and I have enough bits of historical paper to cover my house.
I really like complete sets, and issues that surround historical events. I, of course collect USA, since I
inherited many of those, including an overwhelming amount of blocks and FDCs. Israel is a new interest of mine that has been driving me batty for a while.
I am sure glad to find this forum and look forward to perusing the pages.
Robert
