I am focusing on collecting Nursing, Red Cross, and Health related stamps, Angels, Air Mail stamps,PNC's, Christmas,Space, Plate numbered blocks and singles, precancels, US Flags on stamps, Lighthouses, working on completing (used)US Transporatation issues from the years 1981-1995. So yes, I guess I am a topical collector. Gussyboy1 |

My daughter Rebecca collects cats and llamas. However she is in a collecting lull right now.
Maybe I'll collect seahorses on stamps. There can't be too many of those. |

Wowzer Gussy! I'd hate to see how many areas you would be collecting if you weren't "concentrating." |

Great comments guys it is interesting to see how general and also how defined personal collecting interests can be. I think all of us probably have some sort of topical interest, along with our general collections. I am looking forward to hearing more about your topical collections. I am collecting Lion's Club stamps and covers |

I've been giving some serious thought to starting a topical collection of beetles (not THE Beetles. I've always been amazed by the beauty and shear number of varieties. I would organize them by their scientific classification: Does anyone have a good source for topical approvals or want lists? |

Dad collected 'Disney' topic stamps. I didn't even know what a 'topical' collection was until the other day I told a stamp collector about a binder of world stamps I had that were all Disney cartoons.
Since the big 3 Zeps are so expensive, and there was a time where many world stamps had Zeppelins on them, I though it would be neat to collect all those as an alternate Zep collection. Probably never do it, but thought it was a neat idea. |
