I collect covers from discontinued post offices in Minnesota. I have well over 2000 different and I am always searching for more. If you collect the same I have 1000's of duplicates to trade. I also collect territorials,(not just Minnesota). As a collecting addict I really collect anything I find interesting. I prefer to trade. I have had trouble posting pictures here. I try to dumb down my scanner but the message I get back is that the file is too large. Any ideas? Could it be that I don't have enough experience. I know I am not allowed access to email here as I have not made enough posts

By far, the best way to post images is to upload them to a site like photobucket and add the image link to the post. It is easy once you get the hang of it and you don't need to sacrifice image quality. I would love to see any 1857-61 Minnesota PH you have. Here is a nice territorial item. This is a photobucket image. For some reason today this was hard and I had to manually type-in the image code because I couldn't copy and paste. |

I am giving the optimizer a try and for sinclair2010 I am trying a Minnesota territorial cover. It is from Saint Anthony's Falls, dated March 6, 1852 with A 10A and it traveled over 1000 miles. All things that add up to a nice cat. value of $1,950.00, (2009). The cancel is a little weak, but the cover is in great condition, very clean, full flap and opened cleanly |

This one is a bit outside of the range you requested, but it's a pretty cover. Chip |

Chip, you are close to what I want to see. I would like to see some covers that originated in Winona mostly during 1859-61.
pjsstamps, that is a good cover but without a better image of the stamp I would quibble with the identification. Sorry to differ but I just can't help myself. I have a July 4 cover and Dec 25 cover that I will post later. |

December 25, 1851 - New York City. Not the most attractive #10A cover out there but it is the 25th. |

sinclair2010, I believe this is my oldest Winona, however it is not dated and there is no enclosure. I can study the cancel a little more and narrow it down to a time period, but I may not be able to determine the year if they used this same die over several years. As for the 10A. I will try to get a better picture. Maybe when I get email rights here I can send you a more detailed picture. For now I have to go with the "optimized" copy |

sinclair2010, I will look for more Winona covers. What I have well organized is my territorials, which is rather easy as I don't have many and the DPO's. Operating post offices are in those shoe boxes I referred to earlier. I do plan to put together an exhibit of my earliest Minnesota operating statehood period covers into an exhibit that I plan to have at the Minnesota Stamp Expo next July. Smauggie, along with a few other club members has been pushing me to exhibit and I think that would be a good one to start with. |
