Hi,
I have collected stamps for almost 50 years. Like many collectors I know I took about 10 years off when I started my family. I picked it up again about 20 years ago. When I started up again I found much of my boyhood collection was very common material. My goal when I was younger was to collect the entire world. That goal has changed. While I still collect a lot of the World, I only seek out the classic period and primarily 19th century used. My main focus has been in postal history and my primary focus there has been Minnesota DPO's. I am active in the Twin City Philatelic Society, the Maplewood Stamp club, the Collectors Club in Minnesota and the Northern Philatelic Society and Library. I go to at least one live auction a month and regularily bid on many online auction sites. I have over 100,000 covers and absolutely no idea as to how many stamps I have. I have an ok philatelic library and also have access to a growing library, the Northern Philatelic Library if you need help in your research and are very patient. I have many amazing friends in Philately with many different areas of expertise. I am hoping to gain and share knowledge here, make new friends and possibly buy, sell and trade material. This site came highly recommended by a few friends that visit here often.

It is a good group. We get between 30 and 55 members attending each meeting. We are likely changing to the last Thursday of the month. I don't have email privledges here, but if you email me I can reply to that with more details. We have a live auction with between 75 and 200 lots and some sort of short presentation. Most auction lots are under a few bucks. I have been a member for about 10 years or so. If it does change to Thursdays I will likely not attend any more meetings this year because of my job, but hope to make arrangements to attend next year. Are you in any other local clubs?
