Hi,

For ages I have been a pretty hardcore coin collector(and member of cff), which I still am. But I discovered a ton of stamps all in books(my mom showed me) as it was her collection. Now I am very intrigued in stamps I recently purchased tons of cheap stamps from mystic stamps and there very cool! While browsing here I learned about the term "kiloware" which sounds soo cool! Anyway I love biking, coins, and stamps :D

to the forum left! I too am a coin collector (colonial and classic silver & gold coins) but find more entertainment and enjoyment looking through stamps. Maybe it's because most stamps are a lot less expensive than gold and silver coins and more variety but I suppose it's in vein trying compare the two as the only similarities are in condition of the subject and spotting varieties. I hope you stick around (no pun intended)as there are loads of wonderful and super knowledgeable people on here that can answer your questions. Looking forward to seeing your collection and perhaps discussing it. -ILS

Hi and very welcome!

The stamps have the advantage that appeared in 1840, on the other hand, the coins come from before Christ.
90% of the stamps are, in general, easier to get.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

Stamps are a lot of fun, and tend to have infinitely more variation than coins (I used to be a coin collector, too). As others have pointed out, you can literally form a vast collection of stamps at much lower prices than you'd pay for the coins.

I'm very fond of kiloware, myself... even though I am what some might call a "serious" collector (I've been "at it" for 45 years!), the simplest parts of collecting (like sorting a box of random stamps) still appeals a lot to me.

Hope you have fun here-- lots of friendly people in this community!

~Peter
