Can anyone help on what the type of this Franklin A5 is in Scotts catalog and also is the value of this stamp ruined due to the fact the top is cut off quite alot?
I "think" after reading all of the different types there are that it is the Scott 6 A6 B Type 1c ???

I'm not an expert by any means. But I respectfully disagree. I believe it to be the Scott #7, Type II. Look at the right bottom plume, to the left is the right ball and its incomplete. Whereas on the #6 it is complete and is a full ball.

As to value, it is diminished due to the trimming of the top & left hand side. The value is what one would pay for it and that varies from person to person and how many #7s that person already has. I would think less than $50.00 would be as much one would expect. However, I have been wrong many times before.
