Recently acquired a stamp collection with some interesting covers in it. I wasn't a big cover collector, but I guess this is about to change, the more I deal with them the more I love them
These two covers below are really nice. Unfortunately somebody cut a corner off the second card with french postage dues. I do not have much information regarding these covers, so I would love to hear some thoughts regarding them. Also it would be really nice if someone can translate, or at least print what is written on them.
I know that the first one is from Lithuania postmarked Wilna (Vilnius), and the second one is from Saar with Postage due applied in Metz. This is all I know.
On the back of the upper card I read in German: Werter Herr Buchnauer (?), anbei die gewünschten Marken. (Enclosed the stamps you wanted.) Hoffe, daß sie gut in Ihren Besitz gelangen. (Hoping that you receive them well.) Alles andere mündlich. (Everything else orally.) The second card contains still less: Senden Sie mir Ihren Katalog über Fiume (?).
This Post Card issued by German Bohmen und Mahren / Cechy A Morava administration in 1941 , was sent on 13 April 1942 from Klattau/Klatovy to Bucharest where it arrived on 25 April 1942. On departure the German Army cachet was applied ( left-side ) and on arrival the cachet of " Cenzura Externa - Romania " ( right-side ).
Present-days Klatovy is in Region Plzen, The Czech Republic ( not faraway from German border ).
