In 2004 Romanian P.O. issued 4 Post Cards ( Code 095-098)to commemorate 100 years from birth of famous Johnny Weissmuller , Olympic gold medallist and film actor, known the best by his TARZAN movies.
Johnny Weissmuller was born on June 2 1904 in a small village near Timisoara City , Romania

Interesting March.

I wasn't aware of the fact that Johnny Weismuller was born in Romania. One actor I heard was born in Romania, and left because he had to escape the authorities of the time, was Duncan Renaldo, real name not sure of, but, better known as the "Cisco Kid".

I did not know it ! Indeed he was born in Romania , near Galati City ( Port) as Vasile Dumitru V. Couyanos
