I have been in "stamp collecting" for many years. When my son was about ten yours old, I thought it would be a good hobby for him. We went to a stamp club in the city where we lived and to a local stamp shop where we bought a "packet" or two of cheap world stamps. He was interested for about six weeks, but then went on to something else. By then, I was "hooked!" I have been a member of the APS for many years. I love to try to sell stamps on their sales circuits. As far as collecting interests, I only get excited these days about "fancy cancels" on older U. S. stamps. I don't buy the extremely expensive ones, of course, but if a person looks for interesting cancels, they can often be found for just the regular price of the stamp. I am looking forward to being in this group.
