I especially like the Prussian envelope, 2 great strikes of the postmark.

Bujutsu,

They came from the same seller, so postage was cheap.

I LOVE your name! When I see it, it makes me think of the primarily Japanese Buddhist temple I go to. Such delightful people!

Thank you Zipper.

My other hobby / endeavor is the martial arts, so, I thought it appropriate to use a name from there.

Hi Zipper,

Are there any postal markings on the back of the Prussian envelope?

It's an international usage, from Prussia to Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, and I wondered if there would have been any markings to reflect this.

Thanks,

Nice stuff Zipper.

Just curious, what's all that small diagonal print about?

Doesn't look like 19th Century too me, that's why I'm wondering.

Litho, it reads: EIN SILBERGROSHEN POST-COUVERT (in tiny capital letters), over and over. Runs across the front and back, diagonally.

Thanks very much Zipper.

I always find it interesting to see the back of these envelopes, to see the embossing on the flaps as well as the arrival markings.
