99 Years Ago Today...

Ninety-nine years ago, today, John Yegge of De Witt, Iowa, was mailed
his membership card from the United States Revenue Society by the
club's secretary, J.D. Bartlett of Springfield Massachusetts. Also
enclosed was an additional application form and a letter from the
secretary outlining his revenue stamp collecting interests. The
letter appears to have been duplicated on a hectograph machine. The
membership card was not left in the envelope.

The APS calls the United States Revenue Society a forerunner of the
American Revenue Association whose website is here: http://revenuer.org

I have been a member of the ARA for many years. The ARA is only $21 a year for membership. One huge benefit of membership is that you receive a high quality journal with very informative articles on all kinds of revenue stamps.

I'm thinking I should become a life member of the ARA. I am very happy I became a life member of the APS.

I became a life member of the APS by osmosis ..its proof to me that I am a stamp collector !!
