Ninety-nine years ago, today, John Yegge of De Witt, Iowa, was mailed
his membership card from the United States Revenue Society by the
club's secretary, J.D. Bartlett of Springfield Massachusetts. Also
enclosed was an additional application form and a letter from the
secretary outlining his revenue stamp collecting interests. The
letter appears to have been duplicated on a hectograph machine. The
membership card was not left in the envelope.
