My question is does everyone feel that it is worthwhile to save all modern covers that you can, or if you should only save them if they have a significant cancel, unusual postage rate, etc.? Also, I haven't seen any record of ebay sales of modern covers, but see others talk about them all the time. Am I missing something?? Thanks!

I don't save the oversized ones or the ones with postage out of the proper time period. Those get soaked. I save all the rest.

There is a market for modern covers - I've sold plenty. People do collect modern stamps on cover which can be tough to get or postmarks for post offices that might close soon, etc. etc. There can be other labels or postal markings that are highly desired. All the classic covers that exist today exist because someone decided not to throw it away or cut out the stamps in the past. What becomes of your covers that you save today - who knows, but at least there's a chance someone else will find pleasure in them currently or later on.

I'll usually take the "colorful eagle head" coils, but nothing else. There may be a market for modern stuff but I'm not in it. I don't collect stickers.
