Sometime in the near future we will be getting some new, much better, hardware on the database server. This will take 10 to 12 hours and will likely result in some poor performance during that time. It should be well worth it though.

We don't have a time scheduled yet, but I will let you know as soon as I do.

There is another thread on "time outs" but ill add this here as it may be relevant. My experience has risen from occasional time outs to more often than not in the last two days.

I was going to ask the same thing. I'm getting timeout errors galore.

I am not sure I understand the problem of timeouts. I have never experienced a time out on the site. And now that I have said it, I am sure that within seconds, I will timeout.

When you click on a thread and nothing happens. You just see "waiting for www.stamp......" on the status bar of your browser (usually bottom left) and after 30 seconds or so (if you wait that long) you get a time out message.

Not as big of a deal when you are just reading because after a couple seconds, I know it's in timeout mode so I click it again (or again and again) until it connects normally.

But when posting a message and it times out, you lose your message. If you click submit reply over and over when it looks to be in "timeout mode", you may end up with several duplicate posts.

I counteract that now buy copying whatever I typed, so I can easily just paste it back in if neccessary. It does get frustrating when I lose a post cause I forgot to copy it first.

As I've stated before, this is the only website I visit that this happens. And I visit many, many websites.

I have never had a time-out either; maybe 2 or 3 times a week, a page will take 20 seconds to load, which provides a convenient interval to change my mind...
