Just as an interesting side note, I found this example on the internet. Dated a little over a year earlier (December 2011) it uses an entirely different layout on the handstamped postmark. Seems a bit unusual, given that the post office must be a relatively small operation in such a remote location. (At least polar bears seem to be a more appropriate stamp subject than Hawaiian shirts from that location!):

Thanks for the scan of the polar bear cover, wt1, and this one came from our daughter who works on the North Slope near Milne Point - a ways west of Prudhoe Bay. Post office is a window inside the Prudhoe Bay General Store. She had just gotten back from her two weeks off - a visit to Hawaii - the week before thus the aloha stamp on a postcard of Hawaii state bird. One of the cleanest postmarks I've seen from the US in a while...
