Maybe this thread should go in the Covers forum.

This thread is for posting postmarks, especially new spray-on cancellation designs, but other interesting postmarks or any postmarks at all can as well.

Here is a postmark from Abilene, Texas, I received a couple days ago. It's a design I've never seen before, but I have no idea what it's supposed to be commermorating... Blobs?

If anyone else has seen this before or has a better picture, feel free to post.

It's actually Energy Action Month which was in October. It says "Turn Off Lights" next to the blob figure.

interesting that they've gone back to it.

I like collecting handstamp postmarks, I'm sure they won't be worth anything or much, but I don't understand why these sprayons are so bad. Do the heads get gummed up?

Thanks for that information, jeffyl00b.

I think the spray-ons look so bad because of how quickly the covers are passed through the cancellation machines. It's likely an issue of quantity over quality in order to save money and time.

It is strange that they have started using that one again. I hope to see this thread stay alive, and will try to periodical post some scans of interesting postmarks here. It would be interesting to see how many different cities we could get scans from on here

Got tons of this one at Christmas time, although this was the only clear one. The rest were blurred like Coinsearcher83's, but I can tell they're all the same design as this one.
