Karen, How'bout Stillwater? I don't know much Stillwater history even though my office was there for 12 years. I was up the hill and considered a foreigner, certainly not a "Stillwater" person. I also had a very small spot in the antique mall across the street from the Zephyr. I sold,..... wait for it...... stamps and old toys. Pat
Pat, Your blog works just fine now. Stillwater postal history would be a fine addition. I don't know that much about it either. As you know it was one of the first Minnesota post offices so it must have some interesting tales.
If you sold postcards at your antique spot you may see them pop up again on one of the threads on SCF! Karen
Karen, I did not sell postcards then. Do you go to the postcard shows around the cities? I have a friend that swears he finds great stamps on cheap postcards at the postcard shows. I have never been to one. Pat
They have about 4 good sized post card shows a year around here. They DO charge admission. Usually three bucks. I don't collect postcards, but I look for the cancels in the cheap bins. Several dealers have things for 25 cents. They are usually the stuff that post card collectors don't like, but I have found some really good DPO's if you are willing to sit down and dig for a while. I will let you know when the next one is. We are due, it has been a while.
