This is definitely not my area of of expertise but the sides of the design are not complete. Looks like plate 2 Type V trimmed.

I just got this the other day, found it in an online book store for $8 with free shipping so this stamp was the first one that the book was used for.

The seller had a very small picture and it was listed as a 14. I could see the large margins from the sellers picture and hope it was an imperf from plate 1. It arrived today and the only type I found with the side ornaments missing is like you stated, a type V.

Thank you for the lesson, Russ. I'd like to add these images to my digital reference library if you don't mind ...

Did that this morning and the seller was very apologetic and is issuing a full refund plus postage cost to return the Stamp. Bummer, thought I landed a 14 for under $25.00.........

My favorites list continues to grow! One day (hopefully not to far into the future), we will be able to submit our scans of stamps to a website with a known database that will tell us exactly what we have. Until that happens, this is pretty cool. Thanks.
