Hello everyone. I just got back into collecting stamps. I have been a collector of German and American Stamps for years. Since the kids were born I had very little time to work on the collection. And very little money to support the collection.
Over the last 20 years or so I have collected 3 or 4 other peoples collections and generally collected stamps I have received on letters and cards.
2 of the best (or oldest) collections I have received are my Grandfathers collection he did as a boy and a friend of mines uncle that collected stamps for many years. Between the two I have filled many holes from about 1900 to about 1970s. Even many in the 1800s.
The suprise of getting back into the hobby is the lack of stores and supplies available and how most of the trading/selling is done on the internet.
I will be posting in another place a few questions I have dealing with these older collection and how to handle and clean them up.
I am excited to get back into collecting and very happy I found this forum. And I wanted to say hello and thank you for maintaining and growning this site.
welcome PK - enjoy DVF - they sre a great bunch of folks here and are more than happy to share their knowledge - also look forward to seeing some of your collection so post away
