Up for your expertise is a set of Kans. Overprints...

How badly do the light hinge marks detract from value?

Otherwise these stamps are super crispy pretty and fresh (the pics do not do it justice )

Also I took a closeup of the McKinley because in the set pic it looks like the overprint is missing....its not, and its pretty dark when you get right up on it.

As you may know, a lot of fakes of these stamps are known. The Scott Specialized Catalog includes this "Important Note" for discerning those differences:

Quote:
"Nos. 658-679 with original gum have either one horizontal gum breaker ridge per stamp or portions of two at the extreme top and bottom of the stamps, 21mm apart. Multiple complete gum breaker ridges indicate a fake overprint. Absence of the gum breaker ridge indicates either regumming or regumming and a fake overprint."

My 2011 Scott Specialized suggests the set of 11 mint stamps are cataloged at $229.10; in MNH condition, the catalog value rises to $478.75.

Hinged Stamp remove roughly 50% from the never hinged value. A set of these hinged go from $40 - $100 depending on centering, Margins, color, etc. Never hinged sets of these run from $80 - $300 with the same criteria.
